A question I get asked often, usually somewhere in the middle of a first conversation, is some version of "What is chakra balancing the same thing as aura cleansing?" It's a fair question. Both terms get used loosely, sometimes interchangeably, and the language around energy work can feel like its own separate vocabulary to learn before you even begin the actual healing.
So let's slow down and actually look at what each one is, how they're different, and how to know what you might need.
Think of your energy field as having layers, the way your physical body has layers. There's what's happening inside you, and there's what's happening around you. Chakra balancing and aura cleansing work with these two layers respectively, and understanding that distinction makes the rest much easier to follow.
Chakras are considered the body's internal energy centers, points along the body that correspond to different aspects of physical, emotional, and mental well-being. When a chakra is blocked or imbalanced, it tends to show up as a very specific kind of stuckness. Not vague heaviness, but something more localized. Trouble expressing yourself. A collapsed sense of confidence. Chronic tension in a particular part of the body. Difficulty feeling grounded, or difficulty feeling connected to self or others.
Chakra balancing works to restore flow through these centers. It's precise work, in a sense, because different chakras govern different things, and part of the process involves identifying which centers actually need attention rather than treating the whole system the same way.
If you've been feeling stuck in one specific area of life, communication, self-worth, intimacy, or purpose, chakra work tends to be the more targeted approach.
Your aura is the energetic field that surrounds you, the layer that interacts with everything and everyone you come into contact with. Every interaction, every environment, every relationship leaves some kind of residue on this field. Most of it clears on its own. Some of it doesn't, and it accumulates.
Aura cleansing works on this outer layer. It's less about a specific blockage and more about clearing accumulated residue, releasing energetic cords & hooks from relationships or situations that are no longer serving you, and restoring a sense of clean, grounded presence.
This is usually the right starting point if you feel generally drained without a clear cause, if you're sensitive to other people's moods and energy, if you've just come out of a difficult relationship or environment, or if you simply feel like you're carrying something that isn't fully yours and feel overtly burdened despite being healthy and active.
Most of the time, honestly, both. The two work well together precisely because they operate on different layers. Aura cleansing clears what's accumulated around you, i.e., externally . Chakra balancing addresses what's blocked within you, i.e., internally. Doing one without the other is a bit like tidying a room but never opening the windows, or opening the windows but leaving the clutter exactly where it was.
That said, if you're looking for where to start, here's a simple way to think about it:
If your struggle feels specific, like communication, confidence, anxiety issues , stress, sleep disturbances, or a particular relationship pattern, start with chakra work.
If your struggle feels general, drained, foggy, heavy, lost, and without an obvious cause, start with aura cleansing.
If you're not sure, that's completely fine too. This is exactly the kind of thing a first conversation helps clarify. You don't need to self-diagnose before you begin.
Neither of these requires you to believe in anything in particular for it to work. Most of my clients arrive curious rather than certain, and that's more than enough. During a session, I work intuitively, sensing where the energy is blocked or heavy and using a combination of techniques rooted in sacred geometry and angelic healing modalities to restore balance and clarity.
Sessions typically run between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on what's needed, and many people choose to combine both chakra balancing and aura cleansing within a single session if that feels right for where they are. And after the session start to experience the magic with in & around them
You don't need to have the vocabulary figured out before you reach out. You don't need to know whether it's your chakras or your aura or something else entirely. That's what the first conversation is for.
If something in you has been feeling stuck, heavy, or simply not quite like yourself, that feeling is reason enough to explore it.

Q. What is the main difference between chakra balancing and aura cleansing?
A. Chakra balancing works with the body's internal energy centers, addressing specific blockages related to communication, confidence, sleep disorders, or emotional patterns. Aura cleansing works with the energetic field surrounding you, clearing accumulated residue from relationships and environments.
Q. Do I need to do both chakra balancing and aura cleansing?
A. Many people benefit from both, since they work on different layers of the energy system. However, you can start with whichever feels more relevant to what you're currently experiencing.
Q. How do I know if my aura needs cleansing?
A. Common signs include feeling generally drained without a clear reason, sensitivity to other people's moods, or a lingering heaviness after a difficult relationship or environment.
Q. How long does a chakra balancing or aura cleansing session take?
A. Sessions typically last between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on what's needed and whether both practices are combined in a single session.
Q. Is energy healing safe to try if I'm skeptical?
A. Yes. You don't need to believe in energy healing for it to work. Most clients arrive curious rather than convinced, and that openness is enough to begin.
